DAILY SCRIPTURE

Ephesians 5:24

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

MEDITATION

The Bible likens the woman’s submission to the husband as to the churches submission to Christ. Just as the church submits to Christ completely and in everything, the wife must also submit herself completely and in everything to her husband. Just as the church submits wholly to Christ and is not in competition with him, so the wife must likewise also not compete with the husband in anything.

To be in competition with one’s husband is to be rebellious against authority. It is likened to being rebellious against spiritual authority for the husband has both physical and spiritual authority over his wife. Wives must learn to obey their husband’s in all things just as they obey Christ, by so doing they fulfill the Bible’s requirement and will also have a harmonious home.

DECLARATION

I will obey my husband in all things. I willingly honour my husband and love him!
